UFO hunters claim to have discovered a series of mysterious hidden alien structures on planet Mars. The structures, according to UFO and Mars anomaly hunters, appear to have been constructed by aliens wishing to conceal their presence from visitors to the planet.

Images showing the alleged mysterious Martian alien structures on Google Earth were uploaded to YouTube by UFO and alien hunter Sandra Elena Andrade on December 2, 2015.

However, some sources report that the mysterious structures were originally discovered by the prolific Mars anomaly hunter Marcelo Irazusta, who reported that he detected some of the structures despite efforts by NASA to conceal them using “crappy Photoshop.”

The images uploaded to YouTube by Andreda, who claims they are evidence of alien presence on Mars, have been viewed thousands of times by curious members of the UFO community. Many UFO enthusiasts appear convinced that they are authentic and reliable evidence of alien life on planet Mars.

“Rumors has it that most of Mars bases are inhabited… and curios people continue to find fact based evidence that leads to truth.”

“The point is that when you put them [NASA] in front of truth and evidence they adopt the silence strategy or they invent some crazy and hilarious explanations….very sad.”

“Andrew Basiago’s disclosure is being proved right! With every mars photo. He basically claims we already teleport to mars daily with secret teska tech… and have underground military bases there.”

Andreda’s YouTube video (see below) gives detailed directions about how you may find and examine the alleged structures and entrances to underground Mars bases on your own.

“Mysterious structures on Mars. Most are intentionally hidden,” the YouTube UFO hunter writes in the description of the video and supplies the Google coordinates.

But an alleged structure located at coordinates 45°57’03.88″N 23°32’27.16″E has attracted the special attention of the UFO community. According to UFO Sightings Daily’s Scott Waring, the photo shows a carefully concealed entrance to a massive underground base for alien UFO spaceships on Mars.

Although Dahboo77 claims that some of the structures appear to have aliens still occupying them, Waring believes it is likely that the underground structure below the entrance located in coordinates 45°57’03.88″N 23°32’27.16″E has been abandoned by the aliens who built and occupied it and that it could serve an ideal site for the first human settlement on Mars.

Waring argues that the site would be an effective habitat for the first human Mars settlers because it appears to have provided safe haven for alien builders who abandoned it only after their mission on Mars had ended.

“This is the location Earth should choose if they want to make a settlement on Mars,” Waring writes. “This is a location that has already been used and proven effective by aliens. It’s probably abandoned… just waiting for new owners.”

Dahboo777 expresses excitement about the discovery and castigates NASA for hiding the evidence of alien life on Mars. According to the UFO hunter, it would be impossible for NASA to pretend that a huge, gaping entrance on Mars to an underground base is in fact a rock formation or shadow.

The latest evidence is plain to see and unmistakable, Dahboo77 insists.

“Every time an amazing discovery is made on Mars, they quickly tell the sheep it is a rock or shadow! Time and time again. They try to make excuses for the objects being discovered all over Mars.”

The UFO hunter also criticizes skeptics who support NASA’s alleged sinister policy of hiding the truth about alien and UFO presence on Mars by inventing clever excuses to explain away the mass of photographic evidence of extraterrestrial life and intelligence on the planet.

“No doubt, some of the small minded out there will buy NASA’s lies until the Great Deception,” Dabhboo77 writes. “But for those out there with an open mind and know we are being lied to, this find speaks volumes!”

Dahboo77 describes the latest discovery as clinching evidence of alien life on Mars, at least in the past.

Of course, there will be people coming up to us and say: “there is no evidence for that”.  Well, those people are usually the ones who have not studied it, not investigated it, never looked in to the science and the experiments proving it, never read much about it, and of course – buried deep in Dogma – Religion – and Superstition.  I have studied it, investigated it, and I have experienced it, so do not come to me and say: “there is no evidence for that” unless you are ready to answer my question: “Show me the evidence for your religious “facts”.  For those of you who like to expand your Minds, continue reading, otherwise – go back to sleep.  It is comfortable there.

In this article we will explore how your body is a holographic projection of your consciousness, and how you directly influence that hologram and thus have complete control over the physical health of your body. We will also specifically explore the exact mechanism behind this principle, and don’t worry, I will provide scientific evidence so let your rational mind be at ease. But first … how is this even possible?

Human Thought Determines Reality

One of the key principles of quantum physics is that our thoughts determine reality. Early in the 1900’s they proved this beyond a shadow of a doubt with an experiment called the double slit experiment. They found that the determining factor of the behavior of energy (‘particles’) at the quantum level is the awareness of the observer.

For example: electrons under the same conditions would sometimes act like particles, and then at other times they would switch to acting like waves (formless energy), because it was completely dependent on what the observer expected was going to happen. Whatever the observed believed would occur is what the quantum field did.

The quantum world is waiting for us to make a decision so that it knows how to behave. That is why quantum physicists have such difficulties in dealing with, explaining, and defining the quantum world. We are truly, in every sense of the word, masters of creation because we decide what manifests out of the field of all-possibility and into form.

The thing is, the quantum level of reality isn’t a local and insignificant aspect of creation. It is all around us, and it is the most fundamental level of creation aside from the unified field itself. The human energy field is interacting and influencing the quantum field all around us at all times and the energy of our beliefs and intentions are infused into our energy field because they are defined by the energy of our thoughts and emotions.

Thus the fusion of our thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and intentions, which I will call the human energy field for simplicity’s sake, is perpetually informing the quantum reality within us and around us at each moment of our existence.

And because reality is flashing in and out of existence (hypothetically at Planck time – 10⁴⁴ times per second – as explained by The Resonance Project biophysicist William Brown), every time our reality oscillates between form, and the pure energy state of the field, our awareness which is constant and doesn’t flash in and out of existence informs the field what to reappear as when it makes its transition back to form at the quantum level.

Therefore each time we oscillate into formlessness, we have complete and total control and responsibility over what we choose with our attention to manifest out of the field in the next moment, and our power and ability to do so relies entirely what we believe, and on how we are feeling.

A dramatic example of this is the case of Vittorio Michelli. In 1962 he was admitted to the Military Hospital of Verona, Italy with a large tumor on his left hip. The doctors knew that they could not help him, so his case was deemed hopeless and he was sent home without treatment, and after about 10 months his left hip bone had completely disintegrated. As a last resort, he traveled to Lourdes, France and bathed himself in the spring there (which is a Christian holy site famous for producing miracles).

Immediately he started feeling better, he regained his appetite, and bathed himself in the spring a few more times before he left. After a few months of being home he felt such a powerful sense of well-being that he urged the doctors to x-ray him again, and they were astonished to find that his tumor had shrunk. Over the next several months they kept a close watch on him, and his X-rays showed that his tumor kept on shrinking, until it was gone. And once his tumor disappeared, his hipbone started regenerating.

After two months he was walking again, and several years later his hip bone had completely regenerated. The Vatican’s Medical Commission, in their official report said:

“A remarkable reconstruction of the iliac bone and cavity has taken place. The X-rays made in 1964, 1965, 1968, and 1969 confirm categorically and without doubt that an unforeseen and even overwhelming bone reconstruction has taken place of a type unknown in the annals of world medicine.” (The Holographic Universe, p.107)

Ordinarily this would be deemed miraculous, and indeed it truly is. But I find this miraculous in the sense of the true power of human intention and belief that it displays. Moreover, this is powerful evidence that suggests that there is an energetic structure which our ‘material bodies’ align with, because that is one of the only logical explanations for how Vittorio Michelli’s hip bone knew exactly which shape to grow back into unless there was some sort of energetic blueprint which was instructing its growth, which as the Vatican’s Medical Commission clearly stated, was “unknown in the annals of world medicine.”

In medicine, maybe this was unknown, but the same cannot be said for physics. At the atomic level atoms bond with one another to form molecules which have specific geometric structures as if there is an energetic blueprint which they are adhering to which dictates the shapes they maintain together.

If our bodies are a projection of consciousness, then our consciousness would create an energetic blueprint which our atoms and molecules align with to create our bodies. There is highly suggestive evidence of the existence of this energetic blueprint (or human energy field) in the new research on DNA which proves that it transmits, receives, and thus reads energy directly from the field.

Michelli’s case is a perfect example of our human ability to re-organize that vacuum structure with our energy and intentions, and thus manifest what we desire directly out of the field for truly miraculous results. The fact that he started to feel better and started to believe that he was healed is, I suggest, the key to his healing.

Some may want to stick with the belief that God healed this man, and I would agree to you. But you and I would probably disagree on the nature of this God. For I contend that you are god, as are we all, because the force we call God is the energy and infinite consciousness behind creation, and thus when we tap into ourselves as pure consciousness, i.e. without thought through meditation, then we open ourselves to the infinitude of our own awareness because we inseparably are that infinite creative consciousness. We are it and it is us.

And when we open up to that energy, we allow ourselves to be flooded with a “powerful sense of well-being” and knowing which has astounding power to create reality, and directly affects our biology.

The Body as a Projection of Consciousness

I want you to really internalize the understanding that reality is flashing in and out of form. This is absolutely crucial in understanding our ability to heal, because if half of the time we are formless, then (1) Who are we really, because obviously our bodies and the material world is illusory to a degree; and (2) What is the blueprint which is guiding the rearrangement of our bodies each time we quite literally re-materialize?

The answer to both questions would be consciousness. Our bodies are a holographic projection of our consciousness, and they are the sum total of our beliefs about ourselves. If we can change our beliefs about ourselves, and thus if we can change the energy that defines our human energy field, then we can change the energetic blueprint which our body aligns with as it re-materializes back into form 10⁴⁴ times per second.

Deepak Chopra told a story that illustrates this perfectly in his book, How to Know God. A friend of his injured his foot while working out in a gym because he was unaccustomed to using one of the machines and strained it. The pain in his foot increased over the next few days, and he found it increasingly difficult to walk, so upon “medical examination it was found that he had a common ailment known as planar fasciitis, in which the connecting tissue between the heel and the front of the foot had been stretched or torn.” (How to Know God, p.221)

His friend decided not to have surgery and instead to tough it out, but in time he found it so painful and difficult to walk that he sought out a Chinese Healer in desperation. This Chinese man was ordinary by appearance, and gave “no evidence of being mystical or spiritual, or in any way gifted in healing.” The injured friend of Deepak Chopra continues:

“After gently feeling my foot, he stood up and made a few signs in the air behind my spine. He never actually touched me, and when I asked what he was doing, he simply said he was turning some switches in my energy field. He did this for a minute or so and then asked me to stand up. I did, and there was no sensation of pain, not the slightest. You have to remember that I had limped in, barely able to walk.”

He continues:

“In complete amazement I asked him what he had done. He told me that the body was an image projected by the mind, and in a state of health the mind keeps this image intact and balanced. However, injury and pain can cause us to withdraw our attention from the affected spot. In that case, the body image starts to deteriorate; its energy patterns become impaired, unhealthy. So the healer restores the correct pattern – this is done instantly, on the spot – after which the patient’s own mind takes responsibility for maintaining it that way.” (How to Know God, p.222)

This story has fascinated and inspired me ever since I heard it. As we have seen, reality is flashing in and out of existence innumerable times every second, oscillating between form and formlessness, and quantum physics knows that our thoughts and beliefs influence the quantum reality which is the source of the material world. Therefore it is only natural to assume an energetic and formless source for all of creation, including our physicality.

I think it is absolutely clear that we must start to consider ourselves as more than a physical body. In truth it is much more coherent to think of ourselves as a luminous energy field organizing ourselves in a body, or as pure consciousness manifesting and temporarily experiencing this level of reality through our bodies. New evidence is clearly illustrating that our mind is non-local and is independent of the brain, which means it doesn’t need the brain, or the body for that matter, to exist.^[1]

We are so much more than we think we are, and infinitely more than we have been lead to believe. The next step that we have to take, moreover, the next step in our human evolution now involves us learning how to use and hone this power we have to influence reality and literally manifest anything we want directly out of the field, from a new hip, to perhaps better eyesight, or a fit and healthy body, all the way to a new life.

But how is this done?

Healing Your Field, Healing Your Body

To heal, all that we need to do is purify our energy so that theenergetic projection of our body is unobstructed. Then our atoms and molecules can align perfectly to this structure because there is no energetic interference to disrupt the image of our body as projected by our consciousness.

We do this by getting in the gap between our thoughts, where our beliefs no longer affect our reality, for, when we are not thinking, we are also free of beliefs and expectations. And by doing this we are aligning ourselves with universal principles, and matching our energy with the energies coming directly from the field of all-possibility – those high frequency energies of love, kindness, inspiration, passion, joy, and so on.

The first step is to consider the possibility that we are not only energy, but that there is infinite energy all around us which we can consciously tap into to promote healing in our body and mind, to become a more happy, healthy, vibrant and creative being. As soon as you start to connect to theinfinite energy of creation and your own true nature as formless energy, then you start to become aware of these energies in your body which returns the projection of your body to its natural state.

The projection of your body can only be disrupted by a disturbance in your energy field – yourconsciousness – caused by unbalanced thoughts and emotions, and limiting beliefs. Our luminous energy field is naturally vibrant, and our energy naturally flows unhindered as a powerful stream of consciousness, but the lower levels of consciousness, which we have been conditioned to live in as part of our social indoctrination, disrupt this flow which if left unhindered would express its perfection everywhere.

Another key concept to understand is that your body is always regenerating. In a talk of Deepak Chopra’s that I listened to, he pointed out that atoms do not age. They do not die, and the same atoms that existed at the big bang around 14 billion years ago exist to this day, some of which are even within you.

Every year 98% of the atoms in your body are exchanged for ‘new’ atoms. You are constantly dying, and being reborn, and literally transforming at the atomic and molecular levels. Every three days you have a new stomach lining, every month you have new skin, every three months you have a new skeleton. And every year you have almost an entirely new body (Deepak Chopra from Living Beyond Miracles with Wayne Dyer).

Deepak Chopra described it beautifully by saying that our atoms “are like migrating birds”. They are not permanent, they are completely independent, and are drifting through space and time and merely being organized into structures such as our bodies by none other than our energy field which organizes them as a magnetic field organizes metal filings, only slightly more complex.

What more proof do we need in order to start looking at our bodies differently, and in general looking at the mechanism of health itself in a new light?

None of the raw materials that form your physical body age, moreover, they are constantly changing. Therefore I ask this of you. Is it really you that is changing? And what is the force that organizes these atoms and molecules back where they are supposed to be, and makes sure that they perfectly and harmoniously continue to do their jobs even while your cells and atoms are migrating by the billions?

Your body is not the real you. Your body is merely a projection of what you believe yourself to be. If you could discover that you are pure consciousness, and that who you really are is an infinite creative awareness that is manifesting reality and co-creating reality with other aspects of yourself (because every being is an expression of the infinite universal consciousness we have labelled as God), then you can start to take complete control over your body, your health, and your life.

Chronic pain, disease, illness, or the old injuries that you have in your body are not actually in your body, they are in your mind. More specifically, they are a function of your perception. Your atoms are always changing, and your molecules are too, but as new atoms come and as new molecules are formed, and as you flash in and out of existence, your energetic field is telling them where to go, what to do, and how to align with one another.

Therefore, you are holding disease, illness, pain, and injuries within your consciousness, and thus, they are imprinted in your energetic field, and only then do they proceed to manifest in your physiology.

If this is the case, then not only is our health completely under our willful control, but the rate at which we age may even be under our control as well. Now I am not suggesting that we can be immortal, because we already are as infinite beings of consciousness. What I am suggesting is that in a time long forgotten, and in the near future, human beings have had and will realize again the ability to live from this field, and live consciously from their nature as luminous beings of pure energy.

At that time human beings will realize that the body is a manifestation of our highest self, and we can not only consciously manifest anything in life, but anything in our bodies as well. And one day we will reach a point where we can continually regenerate our bodies at will because we live from the field of infinite energy, and thus our bodies simply operate at a higher frequency so that we can live in them until our work is completed and we choose to move on.

Fantastic? Yes. But these changes are noticeable within the human body and mind even after a little bit of practice and training, so decide to feel and experience it for yourself, and learn how to meditate. This is what evidence is clearly suggesting and my own experience also indicates to be true. The only hindrance to tapping into this nature of the universe is your own conscious awareness, your level of attention, and your beliefs.

Our ability to heal is directly related to our level of attention and our level of belief. For example we can heal ourselves of any affliction, illness, disease, or injury that is possible so long as we have absolute certainty, a knowing, that we will be healed. This is directly achieved by accessing the most fundamental level of reality through deep meditation.

This is because at the fundamental level of reality, anything is possible, and the restructuring of reality is dictated entirely by our beliefs and expectations. We are pure energy, and there is infinite potential in that energy. It is entirely up to us what we choose to manifest out of the field in our lives and in our bodies.

You have no limitations, and nothing is impossible. It is only your beliefs which dictate what you can and cannot do.

MAURICIO CAVALLO WAS ABDUCTED, BUT THE ALIENS TREATED HIM WELL AND GAVE HIM EVIDENCE OF THE INCIDENT – – PICTURES OF SOME OF THEIR CHILDREN.

There are many reports of alien abductions across the globe. People often take them with reservations; however, others sound more intriguing and convincing. In particular, this one, where an Italian man claims aliens from planet Clarion abducted him, sounds rather intriguing.

Maurizio Cavallo, 63, who also goes by the pseudonym Jhlos published a few books regarding the topic. Back in 2012, at a conference in Turin, Italy, he broke the silence about the extraterrestrial creatures.

He described them as cosmic protectors, lords of the rainbow and caretakers of the universe.

“They are the precursor ancestors; timeless immortals that come from the confines of the cosmos. They come from the primary source, from a place in which you build eternity,” said Cavallo.

Mr. Cavallo, besides being a journalist concentrating on paranormal research, was also an ex-professor at the Vercelli People’s University.

Aliens from the Planet Clarion which locates in the Eagle galaxy, 150,000 light-years away from Earth, allegedly abducted him.

According to his story, in September 1981, the extraterrestrial beings took him to a secret base in the Amazon forest. There, they supposedly altered his apprehension which cut all the boundaries he had of accepting new knowledge.

However, what is really eerie, are the pictures he presented of the ‘aliens’ – hybrids between ETs and people.

Cavallo has very controversial claims. For instance, he says that all of our understanding of the universe is wrong. He says that in the solar system, there are 12 rather than 9 planets as we know.

“I want to add that the images shown on the site don’t tend to endorse my experience of the civilization of the stars.”

“It is not important for me to be understood nor to take the evidence in support of what is narrated. The rest is a matter of every individual and his conscience,” wrote Cavallo on his website.

Columbia and Yale scientists found the spiritual part of our brains—religion not required

Scientists seek to quantify everything—even the ineffable. And so the human search for meaning recently took a physical turn as Columbia and Yale University researchers isolated the place in our brains that processes spiritual experiences.

In a new study, published in Cerebral Cortex (paywall) on May 29, neuroscientists explain how they generated “personally relevant” spiritual experiences in a diverse group of subjects and scanned their brains while these experiences were happening. The results indicate that there is a “neurobiological home” for spirituality. When we feel a sense of connection with something greater than the self—whether transcendence involves communion with God, nature, or humanity—a certain part of the brain appears to activate.

The study suggests that there is universal, cognitive basis for spirituality, as opposed to a cultural grounding for such states. This new discovery, researchers say, could help improve mental health treatment down the line.

Previous studies have examined the brain activity of Buddhist monks or Catholic nuns, say—people who are already spiritually inclined and familiar with the practice of cultivating transcendent states. But this research analyzed subjects from different backgrounds with varying degrees of religiosity, and totally different individual notions of what constitutes a spiritual experience.

“Although studies have linked specific brain measures to aspects of spirituality, none have sought to directly examine spiritual experiences, particularly when using a broader, modern definition of spirituality that may be independent of religiousness,” the study explains. Because there are many types of transcendent moments with varying degrees of meaning to different people, it’s been difficult to test the general effects of spirituality, as opposed to religiosity. So for this study, the researchers generated individual scripts that put each subject in their own relevant transcendent state.

With each of the 27 subjects—all healthy young adults—the researchers created a personal script based on each person’s self-reported previous spiritual experiences. The scientists then scanned brain activity when generating such a state in the subjects.

During their varied transcendent states, all subjects showed similar activity patterns in the parietal cortex, which processes sensation, spatial orientation, and language, and is thought to influence attention, among other functions. In other words, whether the thing that makes a person feel connected to something greater involves church, trees, or a stadium full of sports fans, it appears to have the same effect on the brain.

The effect on the brain is distinct from the effect of other forms of relaxation, according to researchers. “We observed in the spiritual condition, as compared with the neutral-relaxing condition, reduced activity in the left inferior parietal lobule (IPL), a result that suggests the IPL may contribute importantly to perceptual processing and self-other representations during spiritual experiences,” the study explains.

These changes in the brain may help explain why, during spiritual experiences, the barrier between the self and others can be reduced or even eliminated altogether. Although we need some separation between ourselves and everyone else for protection and to manage reality, removing the barrier every so often is also valuable.

“Spiritual experiences are robust states that may have profound impacts on people’s lives,” explains Yale psychiatry and neuroscience professor Marc Potenza, in a statement about the work. “Understanding the neural bases of spiritual experiences may help us better understand their roles in resilience and recovery from mental health and addictive disorders.”

Spiritual experiences involve “pronounced shifts in perception [that] buffer the effects of stress,” the study says. The findings suggest that those experiences can be accessed by everyone, and that transcendence isn’t dependent upon religiosity. That makes studying spiritual experiences and figuring out how to use such states for improved mental health easier for scientists. Next, the researchers hope to test a bigger group of subjects of all ages.

Beyond mental health, scientists study spirituality because the human quest for meaning is timeless and universal. By cultivating spiritual experiences in addition to strengthening our intellectual abilities, people can lead emotionally richer lives and develop more open minds, scientists say.

As Tony Jack, director of the Brain, Mind and Consciousness lab at Case Western Reserve University—who was not involved in this study—explains to WKSU, analytical thinking and spiritual, empathic thinking rely on different neural pathways and processes. They don’t happen simultaneously in the brain, but both modes are necessary, like breathing in and breathing out. “You can’t do both at the same time, but you need both to stay healthy and well,” he says.

It is the central question in quantum mechanics, and no one knows the answer: What really happens in a superposition—the peculiar circumstance in which particles seem to be in two or more places or states at once? Now, in a forthcoming paper a team of researchers in Israel and Japan has proposed an experiment that could finally let us say something for sure about the nature of this puzzling phenomenon.

Their experiment, which the researchers say could be carried out within a few months, should enable scientists to sneak a glance at where an object—in this case a particle of light, called a photon—actually resides when it is placed in a superposition. And the researchers predict the answer will be even stranger and more shocking than “two places at once.”

The classic example of a superposition involves firing photons at two parallel slits in a barrier. One fundamental aspect of quantum mechanics is that tiny particles can behave like waves, so that those passing through one slit “interfere” with those going through the other, their wavy ripples either boosting or canceling one another to create a characteristic pattern on a detector screen. The odd thing, though, is this interference occurs even if only one particle is fired at a time. The particle seems somehow to pass through both slits at once, interfering with itself. That’s a superposition.

And it gets weirder: Measuring which slit such a particle goes through will invariably indicate it only goes through one—but then the wavelike interference (the “quantumness,” if you will) vanishes. The very act of measurement seems to “collapse” the superposition. “We know something fishy is going on in a superposition,” says physicist Avshalom Elitzur of the Israeli Institute for Advanced Research. “But you’re not allowed to measure it. This is what makes quantum mechanics so diabolical.”

For decades researchers have stalled at this apparent impasse. They cannot say exactly what a superposition is without looking at it; but if they try to look at it, it disappears. One potential solution—developed by Elitzur’s former mentor, Israeli physicist Yakir Aharonov, now at Chapman University, and his collaborators—suggests a way to deduce something about quantum particles before measuring them. Aharonov’s approach is called the two-state-vector formalism (TSVF) of quantum mechanics, and postulates quantum events are in some sense determined by quantum states not just in the past—but also in the future. That is, the TSVF assumes quantum mechanics works the same way both forward and backward in time. From this perspective, causes can seem to propagate backward in time, occurring after their effects.

But one needn’t take this strange notion literally. Rather, in the TSVF one can gain retrospective knowledge of what happened in a quantum system by selecting the outcome: Instead of simply measuring where a particle ends up, a researcher chooses a particular location in which to look for it. This is called post-selection, and it supplies more information than any unconditional peek at outcomes ever could. This is because the particle’s state at any instant is being evaluated retrospectively in light of its entire history, up to and including measurement. The oddness comes in because it looks as if the researcher—simply by choosing to look for a particular outcome—then causes that outcome to happen. But this is a bit like concluding that if you turn on your television when your favorite program is scheduled, your action causes that program to be broadcast at that very moment. “It’s generally accepted that the TSVF is mathematically equivalent to standard quantum mechanics,” says David Wallace, a philosopher of science at the University of Southern California who specializes in interpretations of quantum mechanics. “But it does lead to seeing certain things one wouldn’t otherwise have seen.”

Take, for instance, a version of the double-slit experiment devised by Aharonov and co-worker Lev Vaidman in 2003, which they interpreted with the TSVF. The pair described (but did not build) an optical system in which a single photon acts as a “shutter” that closes a slit by causing another “probe” photon approaching the slit to be reflected back the way it came. By applying post-selection to the measurements of the probe photon, Aharonov and Vaidman showed, one could discern a shutter photon in a superposition closing both (or indeed arbitrarily many) slits simultaneously. In other words, this thought experiment would in theory allow one to say with confidence the shutter photon is both “here” and “there” at once. Although this situation seems paradoxical from our everyday experience, it is one well-studied aspect of the so-called “nonlocal” properties of quantum particles, where the whole notion of a well-defined location in space dissolves.

In 2016 physicists Ryo Okamoto and Shigeki Takeuchi of Kyoto University verified Aharonov and Vaidman’s predictions experimentally using a light-carrying circuit in which the shutter photon is created using a quantum router, a device that lets one photon control the route taken by another. “This was a pioneering experiment that allowed one to infer the simultaneous position of a particle in two places,” says Elitzur’s colleague Eliahu Cohen of the University of Ottawa in Ontario.

Now Elitzur and Cohen have teamed up with Okamoto and Takeuchi to concoct an even more mind-boggling experiment. They believe it will enable researchers to say with certainty something about the location of a particle in a superposition at a series of different points in time—before any actual measurement has been made.

This time the probe photon’s route would be split into three by partial mirrors. Along each of those paths it may interact with a shutter photon in a superposition. These interactions can be considered to take place within boxes labeled A, B and C, one of which is situated along each of the photon’s three possible routes. By looking at the self-interference of the probe photon, one can retrospectively conclude with certainty the shutter particle was in a given box at a specific time.

The experiment is designed so the probe photon can only show interference if it interacted with the shutter photon in a particular sequence of places and times: Namely, if the shutter photon was in both boxes A and C at some time (t1), then at a later time (t2) only in C, and at a still later time (t3) in both B and C. So interference in the probe photon would be a definitive sign the shutter photon made this bizarre, logic-defying sequence of disjointed appearances among the boxes at different times—an idea Elitzur, Cohen and Aharonov proposed as a possibility last year for a single particle spread across three boxes. “I like the way this paper frames questions about what is happening in terms of entire histories rather than instantaneous states,” says physicist Ken Wharton of San Jose State University, who is not involved in the new project. “Talking about ‘states’ is an old pervasive bias whereas full histories are generally far more rich and interesting.”

That richness, Elitzur and colleagues argue, is what the TSVF gives access to. The apparent vanishing of particles in one place at one time—and their reappearance in other times and places—suggests a new and extraordinary vision of the underlying processes involved in the nonlocal existence of quantum particles. Through the lens of the TSVF, Elitzur says, this flickering, ever-changing existence can be understood as a series of events in which a particle’s presence in one place is somehow “canceled” by its own “counterparticle” in the same location. He compares this with the notion introduced by British physicist Paul Dirac in the 1920s who argued particles possess antiparticles, and if brought together, a particle and antiparticle can annihilate each other. This picture at first seemed just a manner of speaking but soon led to the discovery of antimatter. The disappearance of quantum particles is not “annihilation” in this same sense but it is somewhat analogous—these putative counterparticles, Elitzur posits, should possess negative energy and negative mass, allowing them to cancel their counterparts.

So although the traditional “two places at once” view of superposition might seem odd enough, “it’s possible a superposition is a collection of states that are even crazier,” Elitzur says. “Quantum mechanics just tells you about their average.” Post-selection then allows one to isolate and inspect just some of those states at greater resolution, he suggests. Such an interpretation of quantum behavior would be, he says, “revolutionary”—because it would entail a hitherto unguessed menagerie of real (but very odd) states underlying counterintuitive quantum phenomena.

The researchers say conducting the actual experiment will require fine-tuning the performance of their quantum routers, but they hope to have their system ready to roll in three to five months. For now some outside observers are not exactly waiting with bated breath. “The experiment is bound to work,” says Wharton—but he adds it “won’t convince anyone of anything, since the results are predicted by standard quantum mechanics.” In other words, there would be no compelling reason to interpret the outcome in terms of the TSVF rather than one of the many other ways that researchers interpret quantum behavior.

Elitzur agrees their experiment could have been conceived using the conventional view of quantum mechanics that prevailed decades ago—but it never was. “Isn’t that a good indication of the soundness of the TSVF?” he asks. And if someone thinks they can formulate a different picture of “what is really going on” in this experiment using standard quantum mechanics, he adds, “well, let them go ahead!”

THESE VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS ARE ONLY THE BEGINNING:

Lava from the Kilauea volcano smothered roads and burned down trees and houses in what was a tumultuous weekend for Hawaii’s Big Island.

As of this morning (May 7), a total of 10 volcanic fissures have opened, pouring lava onto the surrounding streets and forests, according to the Hawaii County Civil Defense. The red-hot rock has sparked fires — a total of 35 structures, most of them homes, have burned down since the eruption started on May 3, the Hawaii County Civil Defense reported.

Hawaiians also have to deal with volcanic air pollution known as “vog,” or hazy air pollution primarily caused by water vapor, carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and its partners. As a result, government officials advised people with breathing problems to stay inside and, if needed, use air purifiers. [See New Photos of the Lava Erupting from Mount Kilauea]

Kilauea has always been an active volcano, but the latest lava show is one for the record books. It started in mid-March, when geologists noticed that Kilauea’s Pu’u ‘Ō’ō vent was inflating in size. Pu’u ‘Ō’ō has been erupting almost continuously since January 1983, but the inflation was out of the ordinary, Janet Babb, a geologist and Hawaiian Volcano Observatory spokesperson, told Live Science last week.

Soon, there was so much magma in the system that Pu’u ‘Ō’ō’s crater floor collapsed on April 30. The excess magma moved southeast of the vent to a vulnerable spot: Leilani Estates, a residential area filled with homes.

The lava’s wayward move proved disastrous for people living there. A series of earthquakes, including a magnitude-6.9 quake that struck May 4, were followed by spewing lava. As of today, lava and gas continue to erupt at low levels within Leilani Estates, according to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO). Moreover, last night there was only minimal lava and spatter — that is, blobs of airborne lava — from the various fissures.

But this isn’t a sign that the eruption is winding down.

“This is likely only a pause in activity; additional outbreaks or a resumption of activity are anticipated as seismicity continues in the area,” the HVO said. For instance, aftershocks that are capable of producing rockfalls are expected, the HVO noted.

Meanwhile, Pu’u ‘Ō’ō doesn’t have any active lava, and the lava lake at Kilauea’s summit continues to drop.

But, given the relative downturn in geologic activity, Leilani Estates residents are allowed to check on their property during the day, so long as they are “prepared to evacuate at a moment’s notice,” the Hawaii County Civil Defense said.

Everyone else was advised to stay away.

“Please, the residents of Leilani need our help,” the Hawaii County Civil Defense said. “This is not the time for sightseeing. You can help tremendously by staying out of the area.”

Hundreds of thousands of concerned citizens will hit the streets May 19th, 2018 for the 7th international March Against Monsanto grassroots campaign.

The global events will take place in hundreds of cities on six continents with the objective to further educate and raise awareness about Monsanto’s genetically modified seeds and the increasingly toxic food supply, as well as its merger with the German pesticide, GMO and pharmaceutical giant Bayer.

One of the focal points of this year’s March will be the Bayer merger, which was recently approved by U.S. antitrust regulators despite widespread concerns from civil organizations, family farmers, and environmental scientists. The merger is expected to create a new company that will control more than a quarter of the world’s seeds and pesticides, consolidating unprecedented power over our food system into the hands of one foreign-based multi-national corporation.

A recent poll conducted by two former attorneys from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Divison found that over 93% of farmers are concerned about the Monsanto-Bayer merger, and over 82% are “very concerned.” Their top three concerns are increased market dominance to push additional products, excessive control over farmers’ data, and increased pressure to become reliant on chemical based farming practices.

Another focus of this year’s March will be on glyphosate, the controversial active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup that was declared a “probable human carcinogen” by the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer in 2015. After months of legal battles, the state of California recently won the right to force Monsanto to place a cancer warning label on its products, in accordance with the IARC’s previous ruling. Yet this herbicide is still being sprayed in massive amounts and has been detected in air and rain samples, the breast milk of nursing mothers, childhood vaccines, prenatal vitamins, and baby formula, even as over 2,400 cancer related lawsuits have been filed against the St. Louis, Missouri based company.

Glyphosate use has increased 16-fold since the mid-1990s according to U.S. Geological Survey Data.

“Monsanto’s glyphosate has contaminated every facet of our lives. The cancer-causing herbicide has been detected in the air we breathe and many of the organic foods we eat. Our children are directly targeted as is evidenced by the discovery of glyphosate in vaccines, breast milk, and baby formulas. We must rise up and stop this toxic nightmare or we will see generations of overwhelming sickness and premature death like never before,” said Tami Canal, the founder of March Against Monsanto.

In addition to pesticides and the Bayer merger, the March will also focus on Monsanto’s recent $125 million investment in CRISPR, the controversial genetic modification technique that allows scientists to “play God” by editing our favorite food crops quicker and easier in the lab than ever before.

Because of this new technology, several novel foods are being created including a genetically engineered apple that doesn’t turn brown, genetically engineered potatoes, and more. Some worry that CRISPR GMO foods may become the new standard on grocery store shelves.

In keeping with past protocol, these foods won’t be labeled, and haven’t been independently studied for their long-term health effects on humans.

March Against Monsanto rallies will occur May 19th with the first protests happening in New Zealand and Australia to kick off the global events. Extensive protesting will happen across the world and related online coverage can be found on social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram by using the hashtags #marchMay19 and #MarchAgainstMonsanto (#MAM).

In 1849, British archeologist, Austin Henry Layard discovered 22,000 clay tablets in the Ancient Sumerian city of Nineveh, in an area now known as Iraq. The tablets contain cuneiform script and are one of the earliest known writing systems, created by the Sumerians 6,000 years ago.

In 1976, a man named Zecharia Sitchin published his personal translations of the Sumerian texts in a series of books called “The Earth Chronicles.“ According to Sitchin, the clay tablets describe an alien race known as the Anunnaki, who came to Earth to mine gold. Sitchin claimed extraterrestrial visited earth in the past because their home-planet needed gold to survive.. But that they also tampered with the genetics of humans when they came here.

YES – 40 YEARS AGO I HAD A COUGAR / PUMA / NORTH AMERICAN MOUNTAIN LION FOR A HOUSE PET.

This was back “in the dark-ages” when I lived in Minneapolis and had the Flight School and Flight operation there.  One of the guys we were teaching how to fly, had a business called “Cougars Unlimited”.  He had several big cats of different kinds.  He took them to schools, libraries and places for lectures, fun for kids and the like.  One time him and I flew to Colorado Springs to pic up a Black Panther kitten he had bought.  On the way back he asked if I would like to have a cat like that, and I said “YESSSSSS” !!  At the time I was not thinking of them growing up – – .

A week or so later he brought me 2 Cougar kittens.  One had a bone mineral deficiency, and had broken a front leg from jumping of a couch, so it had a cast on one of its legs.  We nursed that one back to health in a few months, and he took it back.  The other one we kept for a lot longer.  The other one grew up and became a grown house-cat.  It was a lovable cat.  We had a good size house with three floors and the cat loved running up and down the stairs.  It loved playing with kids, never growled at anybody and never bit anybody.  I took the cat to the office at the airport some times, and the people there fell in love with the cat too (everybody – – except the dog who lived there).  On one incident I had the cat outside by our fueling station at the airport, the telephone rang, and I had to go and get it.  I tied the rope the cat was on to a pipe near the gas pumps and went in to take the phone – thinking I would be back in a couple of minutes.  I must have been on the phone for 20 minutes and forgot about the cat.  In a short while someone from another Flight school on the airport called and said: “Come down here and pick up your cat”.  The cat had gotten itself out of the rope and wondered off down the ramp on the airport.  Everybody on the airport knew I had the cat so they knew where to call.  I ran down the ramp and found the cat sitting next to a training-airplane being refueled, with the student refueling the airplane standing on top of the wing and not about to get down under any circumstance.  To me, it was funny, but I am sure it was not quite as funny for the young man standing on top of the airplane – and yes – it was a Cessna high wing airplane.

Another time I remember we put the cat in the back seat of the car and took it to the grocery store.  We left the cat in the car, and when we came out after shopping for food, there must have been 40 people standing around the car looking at the cat.  The cat seemed to enjoy it.  It was a lovable cat, but it was hard on furniture – curtains – houseplants -.  All this was before the “Police State” set in, so we had no permit to have the cat, because none was needed.  I am not so sure this could be done any more, because now you need a Permit by government to sneeze in public.  It is sure fun to think back on.

Ecologists Claim Trees Talk to Each Other in a Language We Can Learn:

A massive web of hair-like mushroom roots transmit secret messages between trees, triggering them to share nutrients and water with those in need.

Like humans, trees are extremely social creatures, utterly dependent on each other for their survival. And, as it is with us, communication is key.

After scientists discovered pine tree roots could transfer carbon to other pine tree roots in a lab, ecology professor Suzanne Simard set out to figure out how they did it.

What she discovered was a vast tangled web of hair-like mushroom roots — an information super highway allowing trees to communicate important messages to other members of their species and related species, such that the forest behaves as “a single organism.”

The idea that trees could share information underground was controversial. Some of Simard’s colleagues thought she was crazy.

Having trouble finding research funding, she eventually set out to conduct the experiments herself, planting 240 birch, fir and cedar trees in a Canadian forest.

She covered the seedlings with plastic bags and filled them with various types of carbon gas.

An hour later she took the bags off, ran her Geiger counter over their leaves and heard “the most beautiful sound,” she says in the Ted Talk below:

“Crrrrr… It was the sound of Birch talking to Fir,” she said.

“Birch was saying, ‘hey, can I help you?’”

“And Fir was saying yeah, can you send me some of your carbon? Somebody threw a shade cloth over me.”

She also scanned the cedar’s leaves, and as she suspected — silence. The cedar was in its own world. It was not connected into the fungal web linking birches and firs.

The birch and fir were in a “lively two-way conversation,” Simard says

When the fir was shaded by the birch in summer, the birch sent more carbon to it. When the birch was leafless in the winter, the fir sent more carbon to it.

The two trees were totally interdependent, Simard discovered, “like yin and yang.”

That’s when Simard knew she was onto something big… In the past, we assumed trees were competing with each other for carbon, sunlight, water and nutrients. But Simard’s work showed us trees were also cooperators.

They communicate by sending mysterious chemical and hormonal signals to each other via the mycelium, to determine which trees need more carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and carbon, and which trees have some to spare, sending the elements back and forth to each other until the entire forest is balanced.

“The web is so dense there can be hundreds of kilometers of mycelium under a single foot step,” Simard says.

The mycelium web connects mother trees with baby trees, allowing them to feed their young.

A single mother tree can provide nourishment for hundreds of smaller trees in the under-story of her branches, she says.

Mother trees even recognize their kin, sending them more mycelium and carbon annd reducing their own root size to make room for their babies.

This new understanding of tree communication had Simard worried about the implications of clear-cutting.

When mother trees are injured or dying, they send their wisdom onto the next generation. They can’t do this is if they are all wiped out at once.

“You can take out one or two hub trees, but there comes a tipping point, if you take out one too many, the whole system collapses,” she says.

Often clear-cut forests are replanted with only one or two species. “These simplified forests lack complexity making them vulnerable to infection and bugs.”

To ensure the survival of the planet’s lungs at a time when they are most crucial, Simard suggests four simple solutions to end the damage caused by clear cutting :

1. Get out in the forest more — this in and of itself will remind us how interdependent we are on this ecosystem.

2. Save old growth forests as repositories of genes, mother trees and mycelium networks.

3. Where we do cut, save the “legacy” trees so they can pass on important information to the next generation.

4. Regenerate cut patches with diverse native species.
